Reasons for starting the Rolling Stock Subscription Service

While one of the reasons I started OYAOYA was because I felt it was a waste to discard imperfect vegetables, I also personally love vegetables and was looking for something that could be easily eaten as a snack, allowing me to truly taste the ingredients. That's when I discovered dried vegetables. I became hooked on their ability to let you fully experience the original flavor of vegetables, and how easily they can be used in cooking to bring out a different kind of deliciousness than fresh vegetables.

Japan is a country prone to natural disasters like earthquakes, and it's often difficult to know how much to prepare. Also, emergency food, once bought, often sits unused. That's why I wanted to create something that could be stored for emergencies, but also used daily, and have delicious vegetables delivered at a frequency that suits one's lifestyle. This led to the creation of our dried vegetable mix for rolling stock.

Even if once a month is too much for you, please enjoy the deliciousness of vegetables at a frequency that suits your own needs.

About Rolling Stock

How to use the emergency stock mix

When vegetables are sliced and dried, the farmers' dedication to flavor is concentrated, and a new way of rediscovering the charm of vegetables emerges. Therefore, it's recommended to rehydrate them in water or dashi broth before use. However, there may be situations where you can't cook properly.

In such cases, you can use them for a quick meal by pouring hot water over them and eating them with instant noodles, or by adding them like a garnish to miso soup. If you have a bag and canned goods or other liquid-containing ingredients, you can simply soak them together to complete a dish. This is recommended for times when your meals might become monotonous due to a disaster.

Tuna and Kelp with Plenty of Vegetables

Ingredients: 10-20g dried vegetables, 1 can tuna, 2 pinches salted kelp

Instructions

  1. Put dried vegetables, tuna (including the oil), and salted kelp into a plastic bag and knead them together. The key is to let the dried vegetables fully absorb the moisture from the tuna.
  2. Let it sit for about 20 minutes until everything is well blended.
