Kyotango pears
In the Tango region in northern Kyoto, pear harvesting begins at the end of August, and various varieties can be harvested until December. OYAOYA, which always sources vegetables from the Kyotango area, will start selling pears for a limited time.
Characteristics of Kyotango pears
Kyoto is famous not only for its Kyoto vegetables, but also for its pears. The taste varies depending on the season, with 20th Century pears in September, and red pears such as Shinkou pears and Oushu pears appearing in October.
The following five types will be on sale depending on the season:
①20th Century Pears: Shipped on September 16th
Although it is not a particularly sweet variety, it has both sour and sweet tastes, giving it a nostalgic taste that is reminiscent of the past. The word "20th Century" may also bring to mind nostalgic scenes when you eat it. Also, since it is a green pear, the 20th Century only has a shelf life of about 5 days.

② Akizuki pears: shipped on September 24th
This variety is characterized by its fine texture and sweetness. It is recommended for those who want to enjoy sweetness.
